Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) outlines acceptable and prohibited activities for Hoztlr clients. Violating this policy may result in immediate suspension, termination, or legal action.

1. General Use

✔ Lawful Use Only – Clients must use Hoztlr services legally and comply with:

• Local, national, and international laws
• Intellectual property laws (copyright, trademarks, patents)
• Data protection laws (including UK GDPR)
• Content-related regulations (prohibited content & services)

❌ Clients are responsible for ensuring compliance with these laws.

2. Prohibited Content

Clients may not host, store, or distribute the following:

❌ Illegal Content

• Copyright-infringing materials
• Counterfeit products
• Pirated software
• Any other content that violates intellectual property rights

❌ Harmful or Exploitative Content

• Child exploitation materials (including links to such content)
• Content that promotes violence, terrorism, or self-harm
• Hate speech or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or ethnicity

❌ Pornographic Content

• Abusive, exploitative, or unlawful adult content
• Content conflicting with UK law or Hoztlr’s internal standards

📌 Content that is legal in some jurisdictions may still be restricted by Hoztlr.

3. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

🚨 Phishing & Fraudulent Behavior

❌ Phishing, identity theft, financial scams, or any attempt to deceive users.

🚨 Malware Distribution

❌ Hosting or distributing viruses, ransomware, trojans, spyware, or malicious software.

🚨 Spam & Unsolicited Messaging

❌ Sending bulk spam emails, commercial messages, or promotions without consent.
❌ Advertising Hoztlr-hosted content via third-party spam networks.

🚨 Security Violations

❌ Hacking, unauthorized access, DDoS attacks, or tampering with network security.
❌ Running scripts or exploits that compromise other users’ data.

🚨 Network Abuse

❌ Misusing Hoztlr’s resources (IP spoofing, running bots, mass-scraping, etc.).
❌ Any activity leading to network performance degradation or IP blacklisting.

4. Copyright Compliance & DMCA Policy

✔ Clients must ensure that all hosted content complies with copyright laws.

📌 DMCA Takedown Requests

• Hoztlr responds to copyright infringement claims, including Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) requests.
• If a valid DMCA notice is received, the client must remove or modify infringing content promptly.

📌 Repeat copyright violations may result in service termination.

5. Fair Resource Usage

✔ Hoztlr’s shared resources must be used responsibly.

📌 Clients must adhere to their service plan limits regarding:

• CPU, memory, bandwidth, and storage usage
• Web traffic allocation

❌ Prohibited Resource Usage

• Running server-side scripts continuously or unattended.
• Storing excessive files unrelated to website operation (e.g., backups, archives).
• Running cron jobs at overly frequent intervals.

📌 Exceeding resource limits may result in service restrictions or a required plan upgrade.

6. Reporting Violations

📌 Suspected AUP violations should be reported to:

✔ Hoztlr will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include:

• Issuing warnings
• Suspending accounts
• Terminating services

📌 All reports are handled confidentially.

7. Enforcement & Amendments

✔ Policy Enforcement

• Hoztlr reserves the right to determine AUP violations.
• Consequences may include account suspension, termination, or legal action.

✔ Policy Updates

• Hoztlr may amend this AUP at any time.
• Clients will be notified of major changes via email or platform notifications.
• Continued use of Hoztlr services constitutes acceptance of any updates.

8. Limitation of Liability

✔ Hoztlr assumes no liability for client violations of this AUP.
✔ Clients agree to indemnify Hoztlr against legal claims arising from their misuse of services.
